Key Industry Associations
MaRS – Medical & Related Science Centre (www.marsdd.com) – a globally significant facility established in Toronto to encourage the commercialization of Canada’s investment in medical related R&D. With over 1,000,000 sq.ft. of special purpose office and lab space, MaRS is the largest medical technology cluster in North America.
Health Technology Exchange (www.htx.ca) – a leading industry association located in Toronto focused on assisting the development of the medical devices and technologies in Canada. Mickey Milner, CEO of HTX, is also a member of York Medtech Partner’s advisory board.
Yorkbiotech (www.yorkbiotech.ca) – a leading Ontario based organization formed specifically to facilitate the collaboration between research and academic institutions, hospitals, health science businesses, industry associations, and all levels of government for the commercialization of new discoveries in the medical technology sector. Yorkbiotech is also championing an initiative to establish a National Centre for Medical Device Development (NCMDD).
MEDEC (www.medec.org) - a national association located in Toronto created by and for the Canadian medical device industry. MEDEC is the primary source in Canada for advocacy, information and education for the medical device industry. One of their primary goals is to advance health outcomes for patients and the growth and vibrancy of the industry in Canada.
